EJ Papa

E.J Papa is a senior studying journalism and communication studies at the University of Nevada, Reno. He currently works at the Knowledge Center as a multimedia technician. He  is interested in audio and print media, as well as graphic design. He hopes to learn more about the Korean culture present in Reno through the restaurants that serve Korean cuisine.

Nikki Moylan

Nikki Moylan is a junior studying journalism and cinema/media studies at the University of Nevada, Reno. She currently works in the University’s marketing and communications department as a reporter and social media manager. Her interests include reporting, public relations and photography. Nikki joined this project because of a strong interest in multimedia storytelling.

Tanner Barrtt

Tanner Barrett is a senior at the University of Nevada Reno studying journalism and political science. He is interested in learning more about the Reno Korean American community because in a time where American cities are losing their sense of community as cities continue to grow, the resilience of culture and traditions from other countries remains strong. He hopes that amid the growing popularity of Korean culture in cuisine and music, highlighting business owners who are a part of the local Korean community offers inspiring stories of what immigrants can still achieve in the United States.

Zaidee Shaw

Zaidee Shaw is a senior studying journalism with a minor in english at the University of Nevada, Reno. She currently works at Massage Envy as a front desk associate and at Somersett Golf and Country Club. Her interests are exploring the rise of Korean Culture in Reno, NV and Korean cuisine, while highlighting the personal experience of Gi Woong Yun. Yun was born in South Korea and now lives in Reno, NV with his wife and two kids. Zaidee joined this project because of her desire to expose herself to different cultures in the United States.

Yuka Kondo

Yuka Kondo is a 22 year-old bilingual, a senior studying journalism and theatre at the University of Nevada, Reno. She currently works at Intensive English Language Center at the University of Nevada, Reno and she is incharge of social media accounts. She is originally from Osaka, Japan. Her interest is to explore and understand the Korean community in Reno and find out why they are close to each other. She focus on Korean American Church community in Reno.
